Be a Support Family
One of the unique contributions that Seeds of Hope is seeking to make is in the area of support families. Read below for a description of this additional way that you can get involved in changing a child’s forever.
What is a support family?
While God calls all of us to care for children in need, not everyone will have the calling or resources to foster or adopt a child. With this in mind, the goal of the Seeds of Hope ministry is to provide each family who does commit to foster or adopt a child with four families offering support and encouragement in a variety of fashions (emotional, spiritual, and possibly financial support).
How can you support an adoptive or foster family?
Be a prayer partner. Offer financial resources. Invite them dinner or provide a meal. Be a babysitter. Provide additional food/clothing. Attend children’s functions. Be a surrogate grandparent. Offer tutoring. Provide monthly encouragement through phone calls or letters. Treat them as an extended part of your family. Take the children on an outing. Offer to sit with kids while the parents nap.
