2nd Annual Seeds of Hope Summer Camp

The “Seeds of Hope” ministry of Quaker Gap Baptist Church will be facilitating a day camp for rising 1st through 8th graders, July 11-15, 2011 between the hours of 7:30am-5:30pm. The location of the day camp is Mount Olive Elementary School on Chestnut Grove Road in King. The intent of the camp is to serve deserving children in Stokes County, providing them with a free, safe, and Christ centered camp experience. Our goal is to make this camp available to these families and their children at no cost, guaranteeing that no child is excluded based on his/her ability to pay.
Arrangements are being made to provide a shuttle departing from the government center in Danbury and a specific location in the eastern portion of the county to assist those in need of transportation assistance. If other special needs are to be considered, please let us know. Camp staff will consist of Quaker Gap, Brim’s Grove, and other area church members who must submit to and pass a criminal background check before being approved as staff members.
Counselors will be broken into two groups: adults (18+) and youth (rising 10-12th graders). Adults counselors will be in leadership positions and will direct activities, act as mentors, and be spiritual leaders. Youth aged chaperons will lead the kids from activity to activity and will engage in encouraging and active play with campers. Our goal is to have no more than a 4 to 1 camper to counselor ratio. Once your application has been received and processed, you will receive a letter from the camp staff with confirmation information, dates, and directions.
